This is a special occasion wine. Opened on September 10th 2010. The aroma smelled of spice box chocolate. The taste was complex with berry fruit and the wine still contained tannin which leads me to believe this wine still has some aging potential. A real pleasure to have tried a wine that by its numbers of bottles is very rare. We look forward to trying more Cabernet Sauvignon from Five rows.

Earth & blueberries on the nose, dark red ruby colour, good concentration with lingering mouthfeel of blueberries, sweet tannins, good integration, elegant cab sauv with very good stuffing, impressive, showcases what notl cab sauv can express.

We have just - December 15, 2010 - drunk this wine that we bought when we visited in October.
It is excellent to drink now and within the next two years. It has a delicate nose. Purple colour. It is full of red forest fruit flavour. The aftertaste is a long lasting pleasure. It is such a pity that we were able to take only the one bottle with us to The Netherlands. It pairs fantastically with a good filet of beef. If only we could have more of these undiscovered beauties. Kindest regards, Frans & Jeannette den Boer

Blueberry, dark purple colour, big concentration, black & blue fruit flavours, built to last & age, massive cab sauv, more concentrated than the legendary 1991 lot 31/66 john marynissen cab sauv, full bodied, substantial cab sauv, best ever from niagara that should age for 15+ yrs, great wine.

We will put this world-class cabernet sauvignon away in our cellar for quite a while...as hard as that is going to be! I would go as far as saying that this is not only the best wine I have ever had from Canada but one of the best wines I have ever had period! This bottle is a pure work of art, from the label to the precious juice inside.

I was happy to pick up the 2007 from Five Rows and to meet Wes Lowrey. The vintage was such an exceptional one that holds great hope. I will lay them down for a while, periodically looking at them and admiring the label. When to drink, who knows, when I do though memories of Five Rows and my visit to the winery will be on my mind.

A “Library Update” of my own:
Lauren and I opened a bottle (387) of the 2007 Cab. Sauv to celebrate the birth of our daughter (July 23, 2012). It was very very nice!!! Still has quite a fruity nose, along with vanilla, and a hint of tobacco. This wine has lots of life left in the bottle, it took a good while in the glass to open fully. Flavors of nice ripe fruit on the pallet, still lots of tannins at play, and a very long smooth finish!
Cheers to another well crafted vintage Wes! - Laurie MacLeod

The depth and intensity of this cab sauv showcases how we can deliver ripeness, flavour, length and longevity. It will so hard not to sample this wine early even though it is a benchmark Ontario/Niagara cab sauv that will stand up to old world blends in 10+ years.

We arrived at Five Rows with a group of 13 from Brandon Manitoba. We had a group of Hospitality/Culinary students who were all over whelmed by the great hospitality that Wes Lowrey and his mom provided for us. We spent a couple hours with them and felt we were family when we left, we left after a week of being in Niagara and talked about our highlight being five rows winery, that is how hospitable the Lowrey family was to us. We thank you and will be talking about you for a very long time.

Was a gift to me from my sister-in-law. I want to age it ... any suggestions on how? I mean, in a wine fridge or just in the basement, tilted sideways or upright ... the tasting I had at your shop was the best icewine I ever tried. Usually it is syrupy and too sweet, this was very nice.

Shared with family on Dec. 23, 2010. Scent of pears and honey, with a slight melon undertone, and the faintest hint of "spent matchstick" , just a wink from the time spent in oak. A beautiful softness on the pallet, but not too soft! Honey again, and vanilla lingering in the mouth.
Too good not to share! - Agnes & Peter Dim

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Lowrey for a lovely afternoon. What a wonderful experience. We just enjoyed your Pinot Gris with a chicken Pad Thai made with love by my husband and I. It was a great compliment to our meal. We really enjoyed your wine and talked about our afternoon all evening. It was wonderful to spend the afternoon in your winery and we will be back for more in the near future.

I must say this was an amazing bottle that we opened up this past weekend (July 3, 2011). It was full bodied, velvety in texture, still extremely fragrant and deep dark red. Although this bottle was very well developed, I will keep the other 2004 Cab Sauv for another year or two as I believe it will continue to develop into an exceptional wine.
